I think the last week was a total blur. I
1. Skated for the last time at the Derby Lite home of the last six months. Does that mean no margaritas until we start skating again???? Gasp!
2. Bought a new car (Hurray!)
3. Went to Washington, D.C. with the girls to visit an old friend and her family.
4. Have been host to numerous kids at my house the last two days.
The bad news is that Derby Lite is on hiatus and looking for a new place to skate, and I missed two Derby related activities: an all star Windy City bout, and the Derby Lite family picnic at the fabuloso Ty Warner park. The good news is I managed to squeeze in a new Subaru Outback, and a trip to DC. We swam (I was one of two adults who went off the diving board...weeeee), went to the zoo (we saw the Pandas and ended up bringing home another stuffed panda, a panda hat, a panda mask, panda bag, two panda cups and a panda zoo lunchbox it's pandamonioum), and saw Eddie Vedder in concert. Eddie was awesome. That man clearly has the sexiest voice around (and the rest isn't bad either). We somehow got moved from third row from the back to third row in the front of the balcony. I was still awake when he finished at 11:30!
After traveling home yesterday, having two lovely little girls over, a sleepover, two energetic boys at my house today, and three different home improvement projects underway today (window shades installed, a headboard delivered, and all my artwork hung) I feel like someone has hit my head with the incoherence hammer. I'm so tired, I could close my eyes and dream of roller derby with Eddie Vedder right now.
Is it bedtime yet? Oh no, the energetic boys are still here.........stay awake, stay awake, s t a y a w a k e ....................................................

We missed you on Margarita Night. I mean practice night. :D
Let's plan another marg night soon, to celebrate something. Like back to school. Like Tuesday. Like the letter D. Whatever it takes.
I like margaritas. And skating...Perhaps we need to go to Lombard on Mondays and follow it with a greek margarita at the restaurant down the street. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. PS - anything can be a good reason to spend time with good friends...
