Inspration from Where?

Everyone must find inspiration to achieve her goals on her own terms. We all find inspiration in all kinds of places. Our goals are different and so is what drives us or inspires us. I know people who inspire me by their actions, writers who say something that has real meaning for me, inspiring places or activities, but I don't expect to get inspired from my gym. The people I see at the gym or a trainer or teacher may be inspiring, but not the organization itself. This is what I got in an email from the manager of the gym today:

"You are making it happen by striving to be your best. Thank you for being an inspiration to others.

Words to the Wise:
Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
Robert Collier

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
John Wooden

Our greatest battles are that with our own minds.
Jameson Frank

You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.
Charles Buxton"

Of course these quips are all true, and yes I know that I should pay attention, but somehow getting this from an unexpected source made me pay closer attention perhaps. These thoughts apply to parenting, skating, yoga and sanity. Maybe the real lesson is don't overlook or dismiss out of hand, words or people that cross your path, and could be trite or might actually be what you need to inspire you today, in this moment.
