I have no time to write this blog tonight, because I spent too long getting dressed. Where am I going? No, not out to dinner, or to a party. No, I'm going skating. And somehow it has become the "I don't know what to wear" event of my week. This is somewhat embarrassing.
I think it's because I'm trying for a mix of athletic and fun resulting (as my friend Payne D. Spencer says) in a super cute outfit. Should I start with brown or black? Do I wear kneesocks this week? A skirt or shorts or capris? Tights or fishnets or nothing? Of course, the weather dictates somewhat. But I still look at my stuff and have to actually think about what to wear.
After much internal debate, tonight I am wearing a brown DL tshirt, a pink skirt, and brown fishnets. Sounds simple. I like myself and my body when I skate (where else is blocking people with your (big) bottom a sought after skill?), and yet I worry about what I look like. At the end I'm all stinky and sweaty, with a red face....and I love that. It's just the pre-skate what do my thighs look like, how big is my bottom, do I look like a hot roller girl or a hooker in sneakers thoughts that make me hesitate. Since I started writing this, I went back upstairs to check out the length of my skirt. I'm wearing it even though it might just be too short...... I guess I'll worry about it another night.

You post a blog at 3:43pm already considering what you are going to wear to practice at 7:00pm? I though only my wife (Payne) had these dilemmas. I heard her cursing this morning, “I should have done this last night!” She has to pack her outfits before she goes to work.
ok, I'll have to fix the time stamp on my blog.....it actually was about 2 minutes before you added your comment!
It is VERY important to choose the right outfit! As you know, my theory is if you look the part you will skate better! And no, that skirt was NOT too short for you!
