Getting enough exercise is a constant struggle. To be my healthiest, I should really do cardio 5xs per week and weight lifting twice. For my sanity, I should do as much yoga as possible, and skate when I can. Figuring out how to do what I need to do and balancing it with what I want to do is not easy.
Take today. I had a cold for about a week. I used that as an excuse not to work out last week. I was going to go for a medium hard walk on Thursday, but I met my friend while I was out and she was locked out of her house. Chatting with her and helping her get her key, was preferable to working out. I feel like I should (my favorite word "should") work out several times this week to assuage my guilt and get back in the groove (plus I have a 30 minute appointment with a trainer on Thursday, and although she's extremely sweet, she will expect that I did my upper body workout at least once in two weeks!). So what did I do today? I went to a yoga class, and put off the gym (again) until tomorrow.
It was a great Vinyasa class. I really like the atmosphere at the studio, and the teacher. It was hard work. I also stretched my extremely tight hip flexor, glute and hip muscles. Ouch. I felt great. But although it's exercise, it's hard work, and it's good for me, it doesn't count as cardio, or as weight lifting.
So once skating starts next week, I will count skating as a cardio workout, but that will still leave me with 3 or 4 cardio sessions, plus weight training, plus yoga. I can't do the math in my head. And I don't think Excel will help with this. So I guess I will prioritize. Skating, yoga, weights and cardio, and we'll see how it goes. As always.

P.S. I did go to the gym on Tuesday. Yeay. And now since I'm super I think I'll stick with a gentle yoga class today.
I meant to say "since I'm super sore"....
nah, I'd say you're super.
